Palermo can be a bit rough around the edges compared to some of the other cities we visited, but it is quite walkable and safe. There are some sites that are very impressive and some quirky ones like the catacombs.

A great place to see another side of Italy. The people are very friendly, and the city has everything to offer. I would suggest taking a taxi to some of the lesser known churches in town, as they are really beautiful. Many also offer spectacular views of the island and sea.
