We did the optional Taste of Alsace excursion in Strasbourg. That was fabulous. During the seven-hour tour, our tour guide, Luci, took us to various places to pick up food for our lunch later in the day. We first visited a French outdoor marketplace where the locals do their shopping. We visisted candy shops (chocolates were delicious), bakeries (bread was delicious), cheese shops (I'm not much on cheese), sausage shop, wine shop (where we tasted local wines). The wine shop was where we ate our lunch. Food was fabulous. We were lucky as in there was only one other couple on the tour with us. Another tour guide had 18 people, so, we had lots of individual attention. Along the food trail, we also enjoyed the sights of Strasbourg, such as the Strasbourg Cathedral which is magnificient.

Both of us did the bike tour of the city with Bridgette. We got to see so much of the French city center as well as EU Parliment as well as the German section. Went back for lunch on the ship and spent the afternoon back at the city center doing our own walking tour.

One of our favorites! This tour was excellent! Lots of walking but indeed a spectacular visit of the cathedral with an amazing clock! We decided to stay longer in the city to shop and have a delicious lunch. There were a few times that the shuttle left after our tour so we had a few hours to enjoy this quaint town. Be careful as we heard there we pick pockets and lots of beggars. We just kept our bags close and enjoyed the day! LONG walks to the bus so wear comfy shoes!!!

The walk through town was wonderful. So many great shops for wine, cheese, pretzels, and more. The cathedral was also wonderful.

Great for exploring on your own. Plenty of food and shopping options. A shuttle is provided to take you from the dock to downtown. Shops have cute displays. Streets are busier here than the German towns along the route. Cathedral was cool but very crowded.
