Took the train to the five villages of Cinque Terre. Very manageable to do by buying the Cinque Terre card.

The Cinque Terre by boat is breathtaking. Pack your telephoto and a BIG card!

Left our excursion because it was terrible and did our own thing. We went to Pisa on our own and enjoyed it. Half of our excursion group parted ways with the group within an hour of it starting because it was that bad.

You have to take a shuttle from the ship to the port building. It's pretty fast, but typical Italian organisation. That means that there are 8 shuttle busses waiting and everyone tells you to get in another bus. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The port building is modern, air-conditioned and central. The building they do the security check is is old, hot an looks like an abondoned place though. Just like the rest of the port, apart from the cruise terminal.

Did the Cinque Terre excursion from Celebrity. Portovenere by bus, then Monterosso by boat. Beautifull. Very crowded too. A little ride by train and back to the ship by bus
