Take a tuk-tuk tour to the local villages and to the church at the top of the hill near the toboggans. They driver will wait for you to finish on the toboggans and meet you at the end before taking you back into the centre. This cost us €45pp and we really enjoyed it.

Hop on and hop off bus was a disappointment....not very much local info. Funchal was very interesting

Absolutely love Madeira. We had been before so this time we just took ourselves for a lovely walk and then went to CR7 museum

Save your feet and take a water taxi right at the port for only 1.5 Euros. Take Euros. Banks do not exchange anything and they are closed by the time you arrive.

Take the city tour & also the gondala ride. The Botanical Gardens were breath taking. We enjoyed the embroidery outlet too, However, very pricy!

Each of these islands have micro-climates - warm at the port, snow at 6,000 feet in the mountains! Dress accordingly

Love Madeira, like to go to Reids Hotel for afternoon tea, there is a trip from the ship but easy to get a taxi and go yourself.
