We did the narrow gauge steam locomotive. It was a blast. I loved this island and I can promise you, I would never have thought to go there on my own!

The Isle of Man is a really nice place to visit. We took an excursion on a steam engine train to see Castle Rushen. This is a vintage train and it was fun seeing it. The Castle is right in town and fun to explore but we got there so late that we had to rush to finish. If I had it to do again, I would have skipped the excursion and just gone down there on our own.

Great experience riding with IOM Trike (independent tour) across the island! Visited on a Sunday and many shops closed.

The trolley tour was quite good and the guide was good. We did get in a bit of shopping so time wise works out.

This was my first visit to the port of Douglas, which is part of the UK. We rode the Victorian Railroad from the promenade at Douglas Bay to the station of the Manx Electric Railway. Our tour lasted around 3 1/2 hours. The journey to Laxey takes 30 minutes. Here we transferred to the Snaefell Mountain Railway, which climbs to the summit of Snaefell, the highest point of the isle. Unfortunately, for us, the summit was shrouded in fog only clearing for a brief period of time. Nevertheless, the excursion was very worthwhile. After a short stop here for snacks and photos, we climbed aboard for our trip down the mountain. Part way down, we rejoined our coach for our trip back to Douglas. It was a fun outing.

Had a fantastic tour with Nigel, better than our cruiseship could offer, and visited Peel, Tynwald and the old Manx Village Cregneash (complete with Manx Cat Joe). This is a special, spirited place. Not UK, much more viking and self governing. do. not. miss.

Larger harbor with many shops. They have a wonderful museum about their local history.
