Alesund is a really interesting port. We docked right in the centre, and it was a 10-15 walk to the centre. It had lots of facilities: shopping centre, fish market, and lots of museums. We visited the cathedral, which we would highly recommend; the structure was beautiful. There were also lots of little, unique shops to walk around, which had interesting products! This is a port where you could do lots of walking, or very little, depending on what you feel like!

Do not do the city tour and vintage trolly. It was terrible. I’d say the city was a bit rough.

Beautiful city. We were sorry the Hop On Hop Off buses were not running. I think we walked about 15,000 steps. We're too old for that. The HoPo would have been great.

Trondheim is a large city. We didn't have an excursion planned so I got off the ship and walked about a half mile to a shopping area where there were a few shops. You have to walk further to get into the actual city.
