We visited Stavanger in April on Azura, she was the only cruise ship in port. The city was quiet and charming. We loved the old style wooden buildings. Stavanger was very clean, tidy if a little expensive. We would definitely go back.

Take the 3 hour fjord cruise - absolutely stunning but do not use Carnival. Book on your own

Beautiful port in the middle of the town, easy to get off the ship and walk round. We did a walking tour of the town, wry informative taken from the very old wooden house to the modern city and the oil museum.

We took a boat ride up a Fjord to Pulpit Rock. What a beautiful journey. And we did an included bus tour of the city with a museum stop.
