If not for an exceptional tour guide, I would probably have rated St Pertersburgh a 3 (good).

Hermitage was great, tour guide rushed us past Da Vinci paintings and spent too much time at some grave or BS we dont care about.

Took the two-day 19.5 hour tour, which was very comprehensive. Peterhof was my favorite, but all the palaces, cathedrals, and museums were impressive, and the canal cruise was terrific.
