This port was only for embarkation and disembarkation. Nothing overly wrong with it, but Southampton in general is not very convenient for foreign travelers who 99% fly into London, 2+ hours away. The port is within walking distance of Southampton's bus and train stations though.

We are familiar with Southampton. Excellent port for departure or arrival. No excursion necessary.

Embarked and disembarked here. Saw nothing.

Train strike on, plus Norwegian switched quays for the ship. We were lucky to get aboard, and heard many others had to go on to the next stop Portland to embark.

We were able to squeeze in a little tour Winchester Cathedral on way to airport. While it was raining and I didn't have a rain jacket nor umbrella (which we did manage to buy for $10 in town), we did enjoy our tour guide and the walking tour.
