NCL did not plan well for UK immigration formalities. Took a long time and cut an hour or more off our shore excursion time. Tour to Salisbury and Stonehenge. Salisbury Cathedral is very impressive; weather at Stonehenge so cold and windy we could not enjoy it.

We did a tour of Stonehenge. There is beautiful farmland to see on the way. Be prepared for cool weather and wind. The mystery of Stonehenge is worth visiting.

Let me give all Americans who may be able to relate to this comparison. I would call Portland / Weymouth the US equivalent to Myrtle Beach. A little seedy and filled with tourist restaurants and shops. nothing wrong with that but I don't need to travel 3000 miles to get to Myrtle Beach.

This was a very cute fishing town. We did this on our own, taking the free shuttle to Weymouth. We experienced very long lines to return on the bus.

Didn’t do an excursion. Took the free shuttle bus into Portland and had a walk around. To be fair MSC also offered a free transfer to Weymouth and plenty of tours. We had specialist dining booked for lunch so got back aboard in time for that. Nice send off later by the port with a gun salute.

Weren't allowed off the port without the shuttle bus. Waited 30 minutes in the sun with no buses and gave up as I have a condition that makes standing painful and I couldn't manage to stand longer. Dorset Wrecks performed before we left and we had a gun salute which were cool.

Not much to do, nice city to visit, we cancelled out tour to the Tank Museum because it was another over an hour on the buse. Late tour would not have gotten back until 7 pm and it was the last day, we still would need to pack.
