Wonderful port. We took an amazing excursion along the Jurassic Coast with DorsetTours.com. There is so much to see from this port. Must sees is Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Tyneham Village, Corfe Castle, Broadchurch.

Weymouth and Portland are great beachside towns, similar to a montauk in New York. I would love to come back and vacation there. There are many beach goers and some rides in Weymouth and some shops. And many great vantage points of the surrounding homes and town. We did a Stonehenge and Salisbury tour. Salisbury is a hidden gem. The cathedral is so big. There is stained glass everywhere, giant thrones and beautiful courtyards. This is what I will think of now when I think of the great churches on Europe. Stonehenge is amazing as well. It is so different to see it when In person. There is a long hot line to catch a bus fro, the visitors center so be prepared for that. This day was the highlight of my trip.

Had a fantastic day in Weymouth! Took the complimentary shuttle bus from the port to the centre of Weymouth, then collected cycles from Weymouth Bike Hire- very reasonable £15.50 for the day per bike! The collection point is a residential property just out of the centre and service was quick and efficient ( provided with helmets/locks etc) and lots of guidance on good bike trails nearby. We just followed the bike paths which were not on main roads so perfect for inexperienced riders ( as we all were 😆) . We rode on the cycle paths all around and then on the coastal path heading towards the port. We stopped for lunch at Billy Winters shack on the beach ( which had been recommend by a local) before re tracing our tracks back along the coast to return the bikes- just a fabulous and exhilarating day! Highly recommend it! And great value!

The Jurassic coast! Stunning scenery, a great little port and the potential for lots of company in terms of other cruise lines! Excursion wise, lots of fabulous scenery to enjoy! Known as the Jurassic coast for all the fossils discovered, it is a place or history and beauty! You will absolutely love this little port!

This port was a surprise to me. I was expecting just some English countryside sites but I went to Corfe castle and was very impressed with the tour and our guide.

We didn't book an excursion on this day, thinking we wanted a slow day after our long flight across the pond. Even though we missed out on going to Bath or Stonehenge, we made the right decision. What a charming town! We had the luck of being there during a folk festival, with live music on 3 stages set up along the streets. After exploring the town and walking along the ocean boardwalk and alongside the canal that runs through the city, we made our way to a sidewalk cafe in front of one of the stages and enjoyed tea while listening to local music. We were thoroughly enchanted by the festival atmosphere and town. The only recommendation we had was to better inform the passengers about the free shuttles into town and its logistics. We had to go to Guest Services to inquire instead of having the information readily available. One recommendation is that if you do wish to visit Bath or Stonehenge instead, to book WAY in advance of the cruise. We unknowingly went during a very busy time and no excursions were available even 2 weeks out (including private tours not associated with Norwegian).
