We loved Oslo perhaps most of all. It surprised us as we were not expecting to discover such a wonderful city! We unfortunately missed the Resistence museum, but we will have to console ourselves with the thoughts of returning to Oslo again. The best part was simply getting "above" Oslo and enjoying a wonderful hike down the mountainside through Norweigian woods. Breathtaking views and clean air, a great rejuvenating way to start the trip.

We had an evening walking tour excursion. So during the day we wandered into town from the port. We docked next to a shopping and ding complex. Toured the town, visited the old church. Had lunch at an outdoor cafe on a shopping street and enjoyed the day. After some Advil and dinner we were ready for the evening walking tour. Now we were able to learn about what was seen by day, and how it looked at night with all the lights on. The stumbling stone left in front of a home where Jewish residents were taken to their deaths left an impression with my wife. The artist has placed these stumbling stones through Europe to remind us of our past. The ice bar is touristy, but something different.

Approaching Oslo through the fjord was the highlight of this cruise. We visited the three museums ofn the peninsula, of which the Viking museum was most impressive--though terribly crowded. I only wish we could have seen more of the city itself.

Highlight was the The Vigeland Park is worth visiting. It is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist (Gustav Vigeland) and is an amazing collection.

The excursion we picked was nice and the tour quide was very good. The only problem was the fact whoever planned the trip had tried to get too much from it. Meaning, everything was done at breakneck speed trying to pack too much into it. It was a very enjoyable tour but we didn’t get long enough at each place which was a shame.

No excursion but walked thru this quaint fishing village. Was only in port for a few hours but the sail away was filled with beautiful scenery!

Really easy to do your own thing in Oslo. Ship docks close to centre and next to the fort. We took the ferry to the Viking ship museum. It was very busy but well worth it. Went back to the ship for lunch then walked around the centre taking in the National Gallery to see the Scream and finishing with a climb up the Opera House.
