The excursion was very nice- more cobblestone streets and shops and just all-around nice people and sights. Though we had some miscommunications between the tour guide and some cruisers and almost lost a couple folks. All worked out in the end.

Enjoyed the city very much. However, it is nearly an hour from the port of Nynashamm. We did the Hop On/Hop Off bus from the cruise ship into the city, which worked well. The old city (Gamla Stan) is touristy but very charming. Visiting the VASA ship museum is an absolute must. It is a 13th century warship recovered after 330 years underwater and restored with 98% of its original parts. Just terrific; best single site on the entire cruise!

Stockholm is a beautiful city and well worth the journey from Nynashamn. We knew this was our dock and with 12 hours in port felt we had enough time to see the major sites. Walked to the station although there were shuttle buses at an additional cost. A day ticket for all forms of transport cost 180 SEK per adult (under 20s go free). Use the tunnelbahn to go one stop to Gamla Stan from Stockholm City to save time. We saw the parade and changing of the guard at the palace. Took a trip further out for meatballs for lunch. Went to the Vasa museum the headed back to the station by tram. Only downside was the return train stopped 2 stops away from Nynashamn and the next one wasn’t due for another 25 mins which would have made us late back. So we got off and walked as it wasn’t that far. Thank goodness for Google maps! 😂

Great city, screwed by having short stay in Stockholm by docking at Nynasham instead of in Stockholm (wasted about 3 hours transit time). Funny how RC Brilliance of the Seas docked right up close in Stockholm

Vasa museum is must see. Had a great lunch. Rest of tour was so so. Overpriced for what we did.

Stockholm is an hour away so they put us in a bus with NO airconditioning and it was 90 degrees that day. We were supposed to port in Stockholm but they had to change the port.

Was disappointed that the Regal Princess docks at Nynashamn which is about an hour train ride from the ship into Stockholm. You also have to walk about 10-15 to get to train station in Nynashamn or use shuttle bus. So at least 11/2 hours each way to Stockholm. We also asked lots question to make sure we got back on correct train to Nynashamn. Train was delayed about 20 minutes & then we had to change trains about 3 stops before getting off. The escalators in Stockholm train station are extremely deep. I don't like heights so I used the elevators. When we came out of train station it was about a 15 minute walk to Gamia Stan. Use 2nd bridge & you come out at Royal Palace. Had lunch in Square next to Stockholm Cathedral. Very expensive....2 beers & 2 pizzas. About $80 US dollars. Couldn't just sit down for a beer. They required each person order food also.
