Well worth a walk around. Not many coffee shops here but but plenty of craft shopping if that’s your interest. Beautiful church interior. Enjoyed the walk from the ship .

Small town with soms nice bridges and houses. Free shuttle bus to the town centre. Do the panoramic tour sold by the red church. Cheaper then by the cruise company.

Our ship was scheduled to arrive at 1pm instead of 8am so our prebooked bus tour was cancelled! The ship did manage to catch up some time & arrive at 11am in the end. We went to the tourist office in the town and got good advise on the bus service. Took bus 209 or 201 to Avaldsnes, 15 min away and toured the historical centre, the church & the Viking farm. Very good time spent there despite the original plan got cancelled. It was cold & rained all day though.

Haugesund is lovely and well worth a visit. Lots of Viking heritage, breathtakingly beautiful viewpoints and extremely friendly people in this town said to be built on herring bones! I hope to come back and visit again.

This ship docks at a decent sized city. There is a tourist information building pretty much right off the gangway and this is where you can book non-ship tours or meet your non-ship tour guides. Most of the ship tours were sold out--so there were literally buses of people from the ship booked with non-ship tours. We booked a non ship tour to Langfoss waterfall (be sure to add on the optional boat tour that gets closer to the waterfall). Enjoyed the scenery we saw there and back--we also stopped at a viewpoint to take pictures and a monument. Many people from the ship walked into town--it says it's about a 1/2 mile walk--looked longer to me--you have to walk over a very long bridge.

Haugesund is a pretty town with a quay where locals pull up for a drink. There was a great IMAX like movie of the area that showed area waterfalls & mountains in helicopter spinning visuals. Apparently it was supported in large part by local energy companies, as they discussed the energy picture almost as much as the scenery of the region.

Went to visit Arquebus Defense Museum, excellent place to visit. All about Norway's occupation by the Nazis during second world war , hundreds of large and small exhibits from bullets to tanks, cannons, guns and everyday objects. Fascinating history and the time just flew.

We didn't do an excursion here. Downtown Haugesund is within walking distance of the port. The city has plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and some nice architecture.

We weren't expecting much, but the town is pretty. We went to the digital Viking museum, which is very well done & I would highly recommend.
