We booked a boat trip independently was very cheap & it was just by the ship. Really enjoyed it, there were a few different trips but I left it too late. Rained throughout but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Only negative was wheelchair access. Online when booking it said that is wasn’t a problem but when we got there it wasn’t really suitable. They managed to lift my mother in law on but she’s small & frail if it had been anyone bigger they’d have struggled so please contact them beforehand. We also bought hot chocolate from the chocolate shop. Expensive but worth it. We didn’t venture far from the ship but there was plenty to see.

This is amazing stop. Follow the signs for the waterfall walk. It’s a must do and costs nothing and the view from the top of the fyord is sensational

Hands down the BEST port of our Sapphire Princess Norwegian Fjords itinerary! The view from our balcony early in the morning was stunning. We were port side, so saw the Seven Sisters waterfall on the way in and the Suitor waterfall opposite it on the way out of the fjord. Geiranger only had one floating dock, which a big MSC ship overtook us to dock up. We had to grab a tender ticket and wait 25mins to disembark via a small boat. There are many cafes and shops at shore level. We didn't take a tour, but walked up the hilly road past a church to see the main waterfall which feeds out to the fjords. There is a tourist information centre/museum across the bridge. Or do as we did for free, just enjoy the scenery and walk down the stairs built right beside the waterfall. Some areas do get water sprays, so be careful as it can get a little slippery, especially as I found some of our European elderly friends from MSC quite forceful in pushing through the crowds.

One of the most beautiful places on earth. Great shops and the friendliest people on the planet. Been the twice and would go again.. only 300 residents live here and try love tourists.

Did the RIB boat ride, it was awesome. Went right by the 2 waterfalls and close to the Fjords. Then we hiked up to the top of a waterfall right off the ship. It was beautiful.

Pretty town. We booked a tour through Geiranger Fjord Services. Very good tour but due to snow could not go to top of mountain as road was closed. Guide adjusted tour to include some beautiful country scenery. He dropped us at top near the Nordic Center which was a very nice museum. We walked down from the center and walked down a road along a lovely waterfall. Again NCL excursion price was outrageous so glad we did on our own.
