The weather wasn’t cooperating in the morning but I did get off the ship to walk around the town. It’s a very nice town with statues and things to see and there was a small market outside that was selling local things. I got a little turned around in that town because it is not set with grids to find your way back to the ship so I saw more things than I probably would have normally.

We enjoyed Bergen used the Hop on- Hop off bus and then we wandered around, plenty of cafes and places of interest. We also visited Lerwick on the Shetland Isles, Borealis anchored and we used the tenders. Lerwick was lovely, A really enjoyable cruise.

The free excursions are dull. We went out on our own to explore and loved the tram, the town, the local restaurants.

Rain, rain go away! Very overcast and frigid. Shopping was like any large city. The Mall was a nice contrast to the old town and a good place to get out of the rain. We could not take advantage of the Bergen Fest event that was taking place due to leaving the port early. Thank goodness we didn't pay for the Funicular ahead of time, there was no way to see the city.

We did an excursion to the highlands and to Hardangerfjord, so we did not have time to explore Bergen itself. The scenery was gorgeous!
