More of a city. Went up on the funicular! Beautiful views. Goats were cute.

This is a fabulous port to explore. Lots of lovely Norwegian buildings, cafes etc. We walked the short distance from the cruise terminal to the foot of Mount Floyen. (Head for the Funicular) From there we walked up the mountain. It took us about an hour, with a few stops on the way up. The view from the top is amazing. There are a few shops/cafe/toilets at the top. If you want to walk further, there were several routes at the top. It’s all signposted. We then took the Funicular cable car back down. You can buy tickets at the top which cost about £6.75 per person. If you don’t want to hike up, you can take the Funicular both ways…. Just buy your tickets at the bottom. It’s very cheap (Much cheaper than the cruise line) and easy to do. After, we bought a coffee/pastry from a coffee shop and walked back to the ship via the local market, which is just off the harbour.

Very rainy first 2 days there. Did some independent exploring but didn't take any tours. On 3rd day we disembarked and stayed for 2 days in a hotel. Weather improve somewhat and we did enjoy our extra time in Bergen. One of my favorite Cities. Found good restaurants, went up the funicular and took a Fjord cruise. Also booked the Fjord cruise on Shipmate. Quite enjoyable and mostly a dry and clear day.

Another sunny day. My longer ship excursion drove along one of the longer fjords, had a wonderful lunch (the buffet was a little crazy as there were two full buses of people basically at the same time) and we stopped at some very scenic photo spots.

Three days here. We did the Panoramic Bergen and Ascent of Mt. Ulriken excursions. Lots of good information and beautiful views! Some of our best fish and chips from the fish market!
