Loved it, tons of things to do. The metro is convenient and the hop on and off busses and boats are a great way to see the city. There is a windmill and Volemdam tour. Fantastic!

We did our own walking tour and we enjoyed Amsterdam. Just to warn you it is really really crowdy. Almost every museum we wanted to visit had at least a three hour waiting line, so do an online booking for the tickets before you visit Amsterdam.

We only saw Amsterdam from the ship as it sailed in early morning. Had an excellent tour guide who explained why the Netherlands is below sea level, how they monitor the water level. We went to the touristy windmills, parking lot was packed with charter buses and the grounds were shoulder to shoulder. We did buy tee shirts & others things, which they had at the airport. We stopped at a quaint little community that had a farmers market with fresh produce, cheeses & other goodies. Beautiful setting. The tour of the Edam cheese farm was informative. Seeing how they make wooden shoes was fascinating. Bought cheeses that were correctly sealed for customs. Highly recommend a visit to the countryside if you want to experience the Netherlands. A country where everyone cycles, travels by boat, or the efficient train. They’re called the cycling capital in Europe.

We enjoyed the included excursion. 2 days are not enough, especially with the 2nd day filled with getting to the airport. (Thank goodness me and m'lady have both visited Amsterdam previously.)

We visited the Anne Frank House. What a sad and moving experience. You don’t need to have read The Diary of Anne Frank to appreciate this. You do, however, need to visit the Anne Frank House website and order your tickets two months in advance. And make sure you are able to climb very steep and narrow steps. This place is not handicapped accessible. After the Anne Frank House we just wandered around the Red Light District and called it an early night.

Canal cruise is the way to go. Took advantage of the time to do exploring on our own. Fascinating neighborhoods.
