The best port from my opinion with perhaps the best organized ship-purchased shore excursion lasting more than 7.5 hours and getting us back to the ship only minutes before the all-aboard. That it was a ship purchased excursion belayed my fears and the cities -- Valletta and Mdina -- are well worth the visit.

Spectacular harbor scenery and architecture and buildings. Had been there before and was glad to go back. We saw so much more than Valletta and Mdina which we saw on our previous visit. Our shore excursion took us all around the island including archeological ruins.

Probably one of our favorite ports because of the historical significance (both in WWII and in Bible times). Did Malta Hop On Hop Off. Totally enjoyed lunch overlooking the water from high point and totally enjoyed historical presentation and firing of canons.

VERY beautiful port and country. No excursion taken but we did a hop on and off open bus tour to city the city. Walked through the village and shopping areas. Had a nice family meal in a pedestrian shopping area. Will take excursion next time.

Lots of shopping, lots of history, lots more of this rather large island that we would love to go back and explore. Very clean, very beautiful streets and architecture. The food was good and offers something different than Italy or Greece if you are wanting to try the local cuisine but they also have lots of pasta dishes as well.

We did this on our own as well and would have appreciated some more detailed information on how to approach the town, as getting from the ship through the port entrance and to the lift that takes you to the actual city involves a good bit of backtracking. It was great to get to see this island country and hear its most unusual language, influenced by Latin / Italian, Greek, Arabic, and probably more.

So pretty from our balcony, especially at sunrise and sunset. Did ship tour to Mdina and then Valletta walking tour. Mdina is lovely. Valletta has a lot of construction going on.
