Depends what you are going for but, we did not find Athens to be a friendly or pretty place and it did not help that it was so incredibly hot. Hop on off busses were a mess and we were not told that you will have to hop on numerous busses to see things which made it very difficult for my parents with medical challenges. We were told initially that they could stay on the bus and ride one bus around town to see everything, which clearly was not the case.

I didn't get off the ship on this day, but from what I heard from other people the bus terminal for excursions, or the Hop On Hop Off buses for independent sight seeing, was only a short walk away, so handy for people going in to Athens.

The city itself is a dump. Athens is more exciting. The port area is clogged with scammers and garbage.

Our tour guide is what made the excursion excellent.

Visited all the must-see sights in two days.

Very nice, but extremely crowded.
