We did the hop on hop off bus tour. This was a good way to see a lot in a short period of time.

Loved seeing the attractions. It was busy. The temperature got the best of us.

We took an excursion and visited the Acropolis, Parthenon, Erectheum and Porch of the Caryatids. There are excellent photo opportunities of the ancient architecture. We also visited ancient Corinth. Again very interesting to visit another place of Biblical significance. Our guide was very knowledgeable.

The reason we did not disembark here was because the Captain, after sailing all the way from Rome for our first port in Athens, decided that morning to not enter the port because of the conditions. We were extremely dissapointed!

The excursion was mostly a bus tour so it is hard to see everything and take pictures.

Corinth Canal was disappointing

The port is a bit far from the action so you may want to consider an excursion but public transportation is plentiful and reasonable.

order tickets online in advance -- but you need to estimate a time slot -- or a "skip the line" tour. we were nervous about the return traffic from Athens to Piraeus, but it turned out to be a non-issue
