Straight off the ship into Sicily. In the town square there's a beautiful clock tower, church and fountain. In the church there's the most incredible model depicting Bethlehem during the birth of Christ. I could've looked at that for hours. Bought tickets for hop on/hop off bus tour. Prices started at 25 Euro each; when I said we'd just have the shortest route the price dropped to 15 Euro each. Had a guide who translated into English, Spanish and Italian though the earphones. Did 2 tours on the hop on/hop off and took about an hour each time. Wifi erratic.

Saw Mt. Etna which was covered in snow in May! Then onto the town of Taoramina. Great place.

Excellent trip to Taormina, definitely worth the 50 minute coach journey. The views are stunning and it’s worth paying the 10 EUR to go up to the Greek theatre. Bus journey itself was very pleasant with great views on either side. Be warned, if you do not like height however as there are some steep hillclimbs and various bridges you have to go over on way up to the village. 3 hrs is plenty of time to explore this lovely little place.

Mt. Etna was awesome but only got to spend a little time in nearby Taormina. Would recommend more time in Taormina if possible.

One of my favorite places in the world. Port stop is too short for stopping Messina. Catania or Giardini Naxox would be a much better stop.

Did the Taormina Blue Grotto excursion; excellent! Our guide GiGi was wonderful; very friendly and knowledgable; plenty of shopping time in Taormina; loved the complimentary food at cafe; loved the boat trip to blue grotto; great captain; able to swim off boat; generous drinks and snacks; able to leave shopping bags from taormina on bus while on boat.
