Could have used more time in Florence as it was difficult to find our way around, what with all the winding roads. Never got to see some of the sights we were hoping to see.

We did a private tour which was excellent. Very much enjoyed this port and the cities. Even saw David.

Great tours to Florence and Pisa

Booked a Shore Excursion through ShipMate and paid in advance to go to Florence. Shipmates did not get our names to vendor. They said cancel and book directly with them. I balked at that because you are required to cancel 24 hours in Advance. Eventually they let us on the bus since we had printed out all our paperwork and showed our reservation and payment. After that Florence was wonderful but crowded. But that is all of Europe these days. The ride back was good but it was funny when bus drivers had to fight with port authorities to let bus through. Hads waving and rapid Italian on both sides. Quite the show but we made it.

Cinque Terra was good, but takes a long time to get to and you don't get much time in each town.

Our excursion was Pisa and the beach! Pisa was amazing. We spent over an hour there to walk around, take pictures and shop. The Leaning Tower was something I was very excited to see and it did not disappoint. Then we drove to a resort beach which was very European chic. Spent about 3 hours there. The sea though, was nothing compared to the seas in Greece. Water was brownish and dirty with seaweed and plant particles.

Viking had a shuttle from the port to downtown Livorno. We walked around a little. It had a great outdoor market area and other dept stores. We went on the included Pisa tour which was great. Guide was very informative! The second day in Livorno we did a paid excursion to San Gimiganano and then wine tasting. Both sites were amazing!
