Had previously been to Florence, so didn't take a tour into the city. Walked around Salerno which was nice.

Everything is very spread out. Must take shuttle from port to Livorno city center for 7€ round trip. Pisa & Lucca are about 60 mins away, Florence is about 90 mins away. Florence is EXPENSIVE. Pisa is very small.

We loved what we could do at this port, but in my opinion, they need the shuttle bus from the ship to have an option to go directly to the train station. We had to get off the shuttle and then figure out how to get to the train station. The public bus for that was over crowded and took forever. It should have been nice to have the option to just get on a shuttle at the ship and get dropped off at the train station. We were on our own for the first day and took the train to Lucca and Pisa. Had a great day! 2nd day in port we had a non NCL excursion planned. That was wonderful and went into Tuscany, did a winery tour, saw Volterra and San Gimignano. Wonderful excursion! We loved this area, just gave it a lower rating due to the shuttle bus not going directly to the train station as an option.

We did a small 7 person tour, and it was incredible! The shuttle took us to the city center when we actually needed to be at a different area for the excursion. They waited for us the shuttle helped us get there.

Train ride to Florence. Not worth $89/pp. lots of walking ( to be expected but just seemed unorganized.
