we used Shipmate and booked a tour to both Florence and Pisa. we found it to be very rushed with approximately 2 and half hours in Florence and less than an hour in Pisa rue to having to walk distances to and from the parked bus. We are not sure if this was the best idea as it was bit of a quivk dash without any real time to absorb ahythjng..

I have been to that Port last year. A shuttle (paid) was offered from the ship to the City. Walking inside the port area is not allowed. We took the train to Pisa which was less than 20 minutes. Florence is also possible by train but we were there before.

please consider if you go any distance away from ship on your own, the ship will not wait for you. in August, a family of 6 were left behind as they went to Rome on their own and were delayed. at their own expense they had to rejoin ship in Spain.

On the two cruises I've been on that ported there, you needed to have booked an excursion. There were not public busses that went to Pisa and Florence. The excursion busses were clearly marked just outside the port area
