Rome is Rome, no way you can begin to see it in a day. Even though they required N 95 masks on public transport we believe its where my wife got covid.

This was where we set sail. We arrived a day early and explored Rome on our own. Nothing special about the port - it's a commercial port, but it's the port of Rome. We took the train from Rome to the port and then called a taxi to the ship terminal. Train cost 4.9 euro each, but taxi cost 20 per car. You can take the city bus to the port gate, then transfer to the free shuttle to the terminal. Only cost 2 euro per person. We did that on disembarkation day. It's very easy and cheaper.

Went of several excursions through Viator. Skip the line Vatican Tour; Pasta Making and Wine Tasting and Dinner in Frascati, Rome Highlights Private tour; and Ancient Rome Walking Tour. All tours were excellent.

We used cruising excursions for a trip to Rome which included jump the queue tickets to get into the Vatican. Cruising Excursions did an excellent job and we saw the major sights of Rome. I threw a coin into the Trevi Fountain to ensure that I will return someday. Loved the Vatican but not the people. On average 25000 people visit every day and I think they all chose the same day and time as us to visit the Sistine Chapel. Sardines springs to mind!

Our taxis were there to pick up all 8 of us, very easy. Spent 4 days in Rome and enjoyed Churches, Colosseum, Fountains, Food and People, too much to mention. I would love to go back.

The port is too far from Roma, the excursion was too expensive to see not much. We tour Roma after the cruise and spend 4 days there and even that was not enough time. Day trip to Roma is a joke.

Great embarkation port but chaotic city. Just grab a taxi directly to the ship. It's worth the money.

Flew into Rome 2 days prior to leaving. There is so much to do in Rome. We did the Vatican Museums, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, multiple piazzas and shopping on Via Nationale. Fantastic! All of the above. Note: Vatican Museums are packed and once you start you have to go through many rooms until you get to the Sistine Chapel. Most rooms are not air conditioned so it can get stuffy. We went mid October and can’t imagine doing it in the middle of summer. It is definitely beautiful. The Colosseum is large and full of visitors so don’t get separated from your group. Make a plan ahead of time for what to do if separated. Good advice for anywhere on excursions. Wonderful shopping.

Spend the extra money to go to Rome, but only if you've never been there. It's a fantastic city but far away from the port. Either stay on the ship or go to somewhere nearby like Ostia Antica. I took the NCL Castles and Catacombs tour. The catacombs were cool but you don't even get to go inside Castel Gandolfo.
