I did the hop on hop off tour was a great way to check out all the main stops but didn’t have time to wait in the line to go inside the colosseum, busses run very frequent . But keep in mind there’s about a 45 min to hr bus ride from the port and back to the port

Rome was a mess - this is the second time in Rome in the summer and now I remember why I did not go there for 20 years. Hot and millions of people. Took the local train - read the schedule carefully to take the intercity express (40min, non-stop). Took the local back and it stopped at every station, and packed it in so people were sitting on the foors. 2 hour torture.

we were constantly watching over our shoulders as attempted pick pockets were surrounding us...and we had them captured...i have photos.

Since we went to Rome before the cruise, we went to the beach-just a short walk from the pier. Our favorite thing in Rome was GELATO.
