As we had been to Rome before, we chose Tarquinia and the Etruscans.. learned a lot about something we never knew about before and had a lovely lunch at farmhouse

Wished we had two days here. We watched YouTube vids and read Rick Steves book and made our way there via trains. Saw the colosseum and many sites. Loved every minute of it. We rented a mobile hot spot and used google maps on the phone to get around. Was very helpful in all ports

We spent 3 days in Rome pre-cruise and stayed at Marcella Royal Hotel. Great location central to everything we wanted to see there.

This port city is often overlooked due to Rome. Do yourself a favor, stay and experience the culture here with less crowds and local cuisine. The history and architecture in Rome was well worth seeing once but I would choose staying here in the future!

It's Rome, if you can't find something interesting, your in the wrong port.
