Adorable some town. Didn't have anything planned here since I wanted more of a pool day for the kids. Got off ship for a quick visit. Went around with the Brindisi express train for an hour and had some ice cream. If I was to come back I would plan an excursion, but we still enjoyed our time.

Free shuttle bus from port to town. Turn right to go up the Main Street with shops, and several pharmacies should you need to buy antibiotics without a prescription ;) Home made gelato a full sundae glass for €5. Turn left when alighting bus and walk along the harbour and up the steps for architecture and quaint cafes. We stopped at Arts cafe just beyond the war memorial square. Fresh Italian coffee only €1.50 Highly reccommended , lovely clean modern toilets too! Not much else to do in port if you’re not a fan of Italian history or architecture.

Nice town to make a calm walk and see the existing monuments and the archeological site in the old part of the town. Has some stores in a new avenue, essentially clothing ones.

We rented a van and driver when we got to Brindisi and went to visit Albertobello, which is a charming and unique town, and to a beautiful beach.

Lovely, we walked along the front and popped in and out of churches, it was a good first stop.

We did not do an excursion, we just stroked around the town visiting monuments & churches as we stroll. We tried the most delicious ice cream here - vanilla with tiny pieces of sponge dipped in some raspberry (tasted like trifle)

This was the excursion to Alboreto(sp) which was a LONG bus ride in the dark. Although I am happy I saw that quaint little city, I wish we had just stayed on the ship. Our tour guide also did the tour mostly in Italian and her English was very weak.
