We paid a private driver to take us around Croatia. Reasonably priced and were able to see quite a bit. The limestone buildings were remarkable in "little Venice." We also did a walk up to a castle seen in the Game of Thrones. Don't watch the show but it was still neat.

Split was wonderful. The United Cruises excursion did offer audio and earbuds for the "Bus" portion of the tour. However, audio was not available for the "Diocletian Palace" portion of the tour and one could not hear the guide speaking (approximately 30-40 tour participants or a bus full). It was very disappointing to not hear 90% of the commentary, despite efforts to get as close as possible to the guide. Wasting one's money on this tour is not recommended.

Split has a nice shopping center, historical sites and restaurants along the Riva promenade. Unfortunately, some of the people were rude and made sexist, stupid comments. This is a very interesting place but isn't progressive enough to welcome visitors from other countries; I also realize these idiots do not represent Croatia. However, I won't waste my money or time here again, UNESCO site or not. On the flip side, Dubrovnik was beautiful and the people were very friendly.

Port was nice. We did an NCL excursion (Scenic Split by Tuk Tuk) which was very enjoyable. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative!
