The palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes (st John) was many hard surface and steps and poorly labeled. Lots of marble stairs I did >20K steps and 20 flights on this outing. We did the 4 in one ticket, which the museum, plate, and church. While the displace were impressive the placards were not. The shopping area was large and lots of restaurants and gelato. HD a gelato and it was vey good, here Παλαδιον χειροποίητο παγωτό https://maps.app.goo.gl/WVf762dTXmqadAD36?g_st=ic. Nice walk past the windmills and old harbor was pleasant.

We took the Lindos on your Own tour. A clean, airconditioned bus, complete with an English-speaking guide, took us to Lindos. Had we stayed at the bottom of the Arcropolis, the excursion would not have been strenuous, except for the STEEP downhill walk from the parking lot to the site (our legs were shaking from that walk). We decided to try to reach the top, and that WAS strenuous. Not just for my 83 year-old mother, not just for me (60), but for folks much younger than we are. There are 292 steps (in sections, not all at once), and lots of places to stop and rest (sit on boulders) along th way. There were a few narrow places on the path, some without railings even though you could go down the cliff if you went over the side. (I was glad my kids were not there.) Both of us were out of shape, but we made it up to the Acropolis faster than expected. We did stop several times along the way to rest legs and catch our breath. Going down was easier, but still strenuous. We would not have been able to hike back up the road to the bus parking lot, but fortunately there were loads of very welcome taxis waiting to bring us back to the bus (4 Euro well spent to get the entire party up the hill).

Another one of my favourite ports. This is by far the easiest place to get around as the old town is no more than 10 minutes walk from the port. Such a beautiful place with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, historical places to visit - quite simply beautiful.

The ships docks very close to the walled, medieval city. Do your walking and wandering around the interesting streets.

Port is right next to old town and we spent the day walking around. Bought a ticket that allowed entry to the Grand Master's Palace and Archeological museum. Both were great places to visit. Wonderful place to shop. Lost of things and inexpensive too!

I would suggest getting off ship, walking into Old Town which is just a half mile walk from the ship. There is a beautiful small beach and plenty of shopping and restaurants to go to behind the Wall of the Old Town. We went to Lindos and spent most of the time driving, which we didn't know, and had little time to look around. Also you have to pay extra to see the Acropolis.

This port, and Taormina, were THE BEST on our 11 day Mediterranean Cruise on the beautiful Norwegian Gem. I mean, I LOVED Rodos/Rhodes. You can walk right off, there is a ton of well displayed shopping, then you walk right in to the old, medieval walled town. It is AMAZING and clean and well kept. LOTS of history here, including Knights of the Order of St. John who were Crusaders that built up a lot of the walls and buildings. There were excursions to an Acropolis but we found out there is one you can walk to, about 1.7 miles away from ship so we used our phone maps and walked up to the closest Acropolis and the sights and views there are amazing! Tons of loose cats live around the Acropolis, so it was fun seeing them too. After 4-5 hours I returned to the ship but my husband found a VERY worthwhile history/archaeology museum that was open within the city walls and could have spent 2-3 hours there.
