We visited the ancient city of Ephesus. It was fascinating to think the apostle Paul and others walked this same ground. We also visited what is thought to be the final home of the Virgin Mary. It was interesting, however it's not clear to me how historians can state the Virgin Mary lived here. Finally the excursion ended with a Turkish carpet weaving demonstration. This to was interesting, however it turned into a high pressure sales pitch to purchase a rug -which I could have done without.

Ephesus was worth it all. Kusadasi is a dump. People pushing fake bags on you.

We did the Biblical Ephesus trip and really enjoyed it. Would liked to have done some shopping in the port town after our excursion but it started pouring.

Did an excursion, it was great but very hot.

Recommend booking an excursion to Ephesus. While there are plenty of shops right off the port, the vendors will harass you to enter their shops (worse than the caribbean). (NOTE: You will find the same at the end of the excursion that include a visit to and demonstration of, how Turkish rugs are made as you have an opportunity to shop after.
