This was a nice port where we saw the house of the Virgin Mary. It was pleasant.

We booked a private tour through Viator. It was wonderful. I saw many large groups herded through Ephesus with headsets on and our experience had to be so much better-it was lovely and personal and our tour guide was the best. Avoid the rug factories/educational center Turkish dinner if you can. The food and setting was beautiful, it was a great experience to see how the silk threads are created and the rugs are hand woven, but then there is the sales pitch to sit through and although it is not high pressure, it was unexpected and put a damper on the rest of the experience.

Booked with Viator, ended up being we were the only couple on this tour. So it ended up being a private tour. The tour guide was fantastic talked about a lot of history. Lunch was out of this world. Tour was Ephesus, Terrace house, Mary's house and St.John Basillica.

A very tourist orientated port which lacked any Turkish authenticity. To exit the cruise port, you have to walk through the shopping area where we had to fight off over enthusiastic shopkeepers and beggars. It's a cross between Blackpool and Benidorm if you're reading from the UK. Really disappointed. However, we took an excursion to Ephesus which was fantastic. There's no shade so take water and a sun hat as it gets extremely hot from early in the morning.
