We took a tour of HIghlights of Ephesus which was really good. The only thing I didn't care about was at the carpet presentation there was too much pressure to buy a carpet!

Kusadasi was the surprise of our trip. We loved our trip the Ephesus. The shopping in Kusadasi was great and we loved the fact that they were willing to bargain with us on prices.

Going to the ruins is very educational. Going to Mary's house is like a pilgrimage and a waste of such a long time of stay there.

The surprise hit of the itinerary. Kusadasi was pretty, vendors were respectful, and the tour of Ephesus was really cool.

Ephesus is a must see. Be sure to enter Ephesus at the top entry gate (not the lower one) and walk down. Much easier walk. The cliff houses are worth the extra admissions fee, lots of stairs though. The cliff houses have very nice frescos and mosaics. House of Virgin Mary is OK if you have the time, but, not a must do.
