We had a really great excursion planned that we were anticipating, but it was canceled. Since the options were limited for other excursions, we just walked around Kusadasi on our own, and there wasn't much there to speak of. It was the only place on this itinerary where we didn't feel particularly safe. This didn't seem like a good representation of Turkey for many reasons (it's known to be a resort town), so we'd like to see Istanbul and other locations in the future.

We did a day in Ephesus with the cruise ship, it was a perfect day. We were there for a spiritual adventure and this place is a must visit. We seen where Paul preached to the Ephesians in 52AD. And was able to see how they lived. We stayed for the silk making class which was interesting but we are not rug people so we didn’t stay and know the price.

We did an excursion to Ephesus and the museum. Also visited a rug making outlet. This gave us a brief taste of the Turkish experience.

Favorite port. Thought this would be the low point of the port, but turned out to be our favorite place. Did a guided tour of Ephesus and then went to a carpet and silk demonstration. Very interesting.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES. AND THE TOUR THROUGH VIATOR WAS MAGNIFICENT.

AVOID going into shops. And walk out of the price isn’t what you want! They are pushy but will give you free alcohol
