We loved this port!! We got off the ship and walked the bazaar, did a little shopping. Got a taxi to tour the town. He did such a good job! He couldn't speak English, so he spoke into his phone for translation. He kept us laughing and had great information. We sat at a cafe and then back to the ship. It was a great day!

I liked this port, but i hated the people walking up to me every few seconds trying to sell me perfume the minute we stepped out of the port. The bazaar there is really nice and prices were better than in Instanbul.

We did the excursion to Ephesus (booked with cruise line). The tour guide was lovely and it was interesting to see the ruins of an ancient city that is referenced in the Bible. We didn't like that it was so crowded (because all excursions go at the same time) and that we were not given time to see some parts as we only had little free time near the exit. However the tour company made us waste 1 hour going to a rugs shop and a leather shop (where nobody bought anything anyway), and I would have much preferred to use that extra hour at the Ephesus site.

We did not do an excursion. A great walkable port. The merchants are somewhat pushy but a courteous “no thank you” with a smile goes a long way. There is a beautiful park with a fort called Pigeon Island about a mile from the ship. It’s free and you can take great pictures of the ship from there.

Considered the Walmart of Turkey, but we love it. Great shopping, food, nice people. Azamara arranged a private evening concert at a small ancient amphitheater in Ephesus. It was an unforgettable "Azamazing" experience.

Hot as blazes but did an excursion to see Ephesus and other biblical sites.

Did an excursion to Ephesus, Melitis, and Didyma. Was a beautiful area, with lots of ruins. Lunch at the hotel was okay. Carpet presentation was very interesting but aggressive. Enjoyed the Turkish coffee the served. Was able to do some great port shopping!

So Turkey was my 3rd favourite port but my wife’s #1. The amazing ancient city of Ephesus and the nearby small Turkish towns of the hillside made this day one to remember! You need to add Turkey to your bucket list!

Wonderful city, really enjoyed the excursion to the ruins and the visit to the village of Sirince.
