This port was the first one and it was nice. But lord the hills were scary on the bus!

We had a bus tour with Shore Excursions, and the highlight was seeing and walking through the Virgin Marys home she lived in before she passed away. The low point was a "mandatory" government stop at a place where they show a few gals weaving a rug and then going to a nice rug showroom where they give you a free drink and snack. After that comes the sales pitch of them trying to sell you a very expensive rug.

5 minutes walk into the main shopping area. Great deals to be got and don't be afraid to haggle, big time.

What an experience! Another wonderful guide who caught us up on history & archeology of the ancient city of Ephesus. This was the most amazing excursion I have ever been on. The UNESCO Partner tours allowed us access to areas the general public count not get into. The Terrace Houses are amazing. BONUS: Seabourn has a nighttime classical music concert at the sight of the ancient arena…awe inspiring!

OMG - If you have been to Pompeii, you really need to visit Ephesus. The excavated portion has to be 6x the size of Pompeii, and there is still so much more to uncover. Wonderfully preserved (mostly) and lovingly protected, this is the Roman world revisited.
