Took a taxi to the nearest beach had a typical Greek lunch and a very relaxing day.

Our main aim here was to see some turtles, and this we did - we walked along the harbour as recommended by someone here on Ship Mate and saw three of them. Then we strolled back through the town. The ship docks right at the harbour.

Poor Argostoli suffered a major earthquake in 1953 that destroyed all the old buildings and the ruins we visited weren't much. Then, on to an organic garden that was just barely a weed patch, the tour bus was 45 minutes late (arriving by ferry from another port), AC didn't work well so we were very hot in August 2019, and the intercom didn't work so there was very little narration. Tour guide was unhappy and said she didn't want to hurt her voice and wasn't going to yell so people could hear her. Skip this tour - I WISH THEY WOULD ADD A CULINARY TOUR/GREEK COOKING CLASS as an option! C'mon - good wine & how to make a Greek Salad with dressing from scratch would have been MUCH BETTER!

Again this was cut short. We arrived at 8 am and should have left at 3 pm but left at 1 pm. We went on a ship’s excursion to the north of the island. The trip should have been 4.5 hrs long but due to the shorter time in port we had to leave the ship at 7.45 am and it only lasted 3.5 hrs. It was a fabulous trip with a brilliant guide but felt very rushed which spoilt it for us.
