Loved this city, which is very manageable. It's cleaner than any other city we visited, lots of restoration taking place, easy to shop on main squares or go to cafes. Music performances by local music students were excellent.

Toured the city on our own. Took a transport at the pier to the main center of town to shop one day, hired a private car to take us to Trinidad on another day.

We did a general bus tour of the island as we both have mobility issues.

Initial tour cancelled before we boarded ship. Discovered replacement tour cancelled once we got to cabin. There were only 2 choices left for non-upcharge tours. Waited for 45 min at excursion desk to see if we could get an upgraded tour for without paying upcharge and response was no. As excursion day was New Years eve town was not very busy. Weather was nice

Did "Cigars, Rum, and Tobacco". Would have liked more than just sitting in an old disco getting a cigar each (as a souvenir), about a tablespoon on rum in a glass, and a demitasse size cup of very strong coffee while we listened to Cuban band. Maybe a tour of a cigar factory to see them made? There was a brief tour of the city square and about 1 hour to shop for souvenirs.

We took a ship tour to Juegas fortress. Our tour guide had a very thick accent, so it was hard to understand her. The tour felt rushed at times and it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Lunch was rather a nightmare and we had to wait over an hour before going in to eat. I also did not feel well, so that did not help. It wasn't the best tour, but, if I had felt better, I think I would have enjoyed it much more.

Winds were high and Captain cancelled this Port. Very Sad. We booked this tour just so we would have more than one port of call in Cuba. Oh well, the things you do in the name of naval safety. Lots of people lost money on this debacle.
