I missed out on a helicopter excursion by waiting too long to book it. That's my fault. Instead I did a walking tour and visited a wonderful old church that is being renovated due to termite damage. At 175 years old the termites had a long run but they are using termite resistant wood imported from Texas to restore it. As Caribbean churches go its very large with seating for 2,500. There are 365 beaches on Antigua so as they, 1 beach for every day of the year.

Been here twice and both times booked Antigua Paddles online before cruise. They take you by small boat (fun and fast ride) to Bird Island for a short hike to the top. Great view. Then back on boat for a short trip to a reef for snorkeling. Back on the boat to the home base for kayaking around the mangroves.

We did the Fryes Beach extravaganza which included transportation to Fryes Beach, beach time including a beach chair, and BBQ lunch at a beach restaurant! This was an excellent excursion! The beach was beautiful and relaxing. We even enjoyed the beach when the rain cloud came over! Lunch was very good as well as the rum punch! We browsed the shops on our way back to the ship.

This was a beach day for us and I was so stressed about which beach to visit - seeing that there are 365 to choose from. I did a lot of research but really didn’t know. When we got to port there were lots of taxi drivers with maps and pictures of all the different beaches. We settled on Valley Church Beach!! We were told it was beautiful and quieter than some of the others like Dickenson Bay. It was a nice little taxi ride over and absolutely beautiful!! He drove us right up to the entrance of The Nest beach club and had a guy right there for us to set us up with chairs and umbrella (for an extra cost). We went to the far right away from the main hub and noise and it was lovely. The water was gorgeous and warm. We really enjoyed our time shut gloating and swimming in the water and lounging in our chairs! We took a walk down to the other end. It was a nice little walk!

Took a taxi (experience in itself! $8 government rate they say, but I walked away and bargained to get $5 each way) to valley church beach. The beach is amazing! Go there!! There were 7 of us, didn’t pay for taxi until we returned to ship Good shopping near ship as well

Our favorite. The locals are friendly and the island is beautiful. We booked a day pass at Starfish Jolly Beach resort. It is an older resort but was clean and had a lot to do and the most gorgeous beach i have ever seen.
