I really enjoyed Puerto Plata, as it was the only island we were permitted to visit.

The port again is beautiful. Tons to do but not enough time. We had to be on the ship by 2:30 it's disappointing because the excursions are so far away most time is spent on a bumpy bus ride doe 45 mins to an hour with only 2 hours to do the excursions. If you are not there a full day like 9 to 6 stay at port.

We were late and missed all activities on island

The water was a disgrace. Lots of garbage and debris floating around the ship. Ship was docked near a commercial area with lots of shipping containers and cranes. The shopping area near the pier was nicer, but every one of the shops had the exact same souvenirs. I would never visit the Dominican Republic again- filthy water.

We LOVED Puerto Plata. It was great to see the DR for the first time. The people are lovely and we would love to return.

The Port was fine but the ship was 3 hours late so our tour was canceled. 3 hours total in port. Ship was due in at port at 9AM, Captain announces we`re going to be late at 9:15, obviously
