got off and on quickly

I didn't do an excursion. I loved Puerta Plata. I walked through the port touristy area to the outside and to the main plaza. I found an excellent shop where I bought Larimar jewelry. I went inside the beautiful church on the plaza. A lovely day.

We really liked this port. No tour, we walked to their vibrant town & really enjoyed our day. We would like to return for an extended visit to this beautiful & friendly island!

Did the Waterfalls and beach excursion, NO WATERFALLS, just spent an hour and 45minutes climbing up a mountain, jumping into dirty water gorges, and 15 minutes at the beach. What a waste of money. Island was very dirty. Would not go back. Not what was pictured or described on website.

We stayed in the Village and shopped. It had a great design and provided safe enjoyable hangout space.

Be careful. We just stayed on the ship for this one.

The immediate port area is nice with shops, a pool and lazy river. The town is very authentic and we felt slightly uneasy walking to it on our own. We didn't stay long but got pictures of the umbrella and pink streets.

Went horseback riding and had a good time.
