Not much to offer and really didn't feel safe enough know the issues with Haiti. That is more on me and my comfort/risk level. The port overall was clean and I did like the pool area. Wish i would have known about it prior to getting off the ship.

Best port ever. We visited Monkey Island which was enjoyable. We also did the lazy river and spent time at the pool and did some shopping.

I did not like this port at all. Once you leave the port area, it's very run down and dirty. The locals can be very aggressive about walking with you no matter how many times you tell them no and then they demand a tip. We walked to Umbrella Street which was nice but we went back to the ship and enjoyed a more quiet ship.

Our zip lining and beach break excursion through Royal was not good and I would give it one star. The open air truck that took us to the zip line was not in good working order. The driver had a very hard time changing gears and there was a tire blow out on the way back to port. The truck was emitting a horrible smell due to this. Most of the hour drive each way was on a dirt road that was rough. Many other open air trucks drove around us on the way to the zip line area. Most of the women on the excursion were forced to pay $8 to wear a pair of gym shorts over our own shorts because they said our shorts were too short for the harness. I wore the same shorts I always wear zip lining and have never had an issue. I still would not have had an issue with the harness with just my shorts. They said if we didn’t wear the shorts, we would not be able to zip line. I let the shore excursions desk know about this after returning to the ship as there was no mention of this in the excursion description. She was going to follow up on this. The port area itself was beautiful. I would give that 5 stars. There are lots of shops, places to eat and a free lazy river running through it with lounge chairs and umbrellas. We would do that if we ever get back there.

Nice for small groups looking for things to do. I was disappointed that I could not dive (scuba) this location, only snorkeling tours. Our group did do a snorkeling tour in Sosua. Great for beginners. Unfortuantely, the depth of water and the required life vest does not allow advanced swimmers or snorkelers to really experience the area by swimming beneth the surface of water. Upon our return to the port we realized the number of things to do if you are not into water sports. Plenty of shops to explore.
