Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic Port Reviews

The ship went to Nassau Bahamas instead. We didn’t get off ship because we have been here numerous times.

I went to waterfalls. Great fun. The tour guide was very likeable, and taught us a lot about his country of which he is very proud.

First time in DR and Puerta Plata was great! Did not leave the port area but did not need to. Everything was right there for those of us who are not big excursioneers.

We did not take an excursion, just walked in and looked at the shops near the port. We had been here before.

Beautiful island, but very poor and lots of garbage. Did not spend enough time there.

I had a nice combination of touring the down and surrounding areas coupled with 2.5 hours on the beach hanging and talking to fellow cruise mates.

Had a blast on our excursion Buggy and beach. It is eye opening to see how many people on this beautiful island live. If you choose to stay in port instead there is a beautiful area built up just for tourists to enjoy. big pool and they were building a new section for a lazy river when we were there.

We loved the cruise terminal area.

Took the Open Safari adventure - local style. Alberto was our amazing guide. We saw a lot of local unique items as well as a nice lunch and beautiful beach.
