As long as you stay in the port area, or book an excursion through Norwegian, then I would imagine this port is good. We decided to take a walk outside the port, and were accosted by people wanting to take us in a taxi. They were literally jumping in front of us, right in our faces, and refused to take no for an answer. We felt unsafe.

Planned on relaxing day in port area as they had extended swimming/beach area since our last visit. Unfortunately the prices of the drinks had doubled since our last visit, Nov last year😤. $14 for a strawberry daquari, which was pretty awful. So returned to ships drinks package and a freshly made Miami Vice. This port was buzzing last time we were here, not so this time…wonder why🤔

We really screwed up here! Did you know there's a FREE waterpark just feet from the port? It's FREE to cruisers. There's places to sit, shop, eat/drink and, did I mention the FREE WATERPARK?? We didn't know and ended up on a "3 hour bus tour" that was really a 2 1/2 hour WALKING tour. I don't recommend. While it was educational about the mineral amber, it was a lot of walking with stairs and more walking. 0 stars...do not recommend.

The excursion was to be about the history and culture. It was nothing but shopping opportunities preceeded by a 5 minute speech. Because of the prolonged visit to the rum factory, the only historical reference was a 2 minute jog throough the central park.

Taxi drivers relentlessly pursue you upon leaving port area. Pre-book to avoid being accosted as you walk into town. Stores in town a must of shady/lovely.
