I don't think so, but there are plenty of city tours you can book. The port is several miles from the main part of the city. I have heard the city is quite poor and some areas are not scenic and may not be the safest to be wandering around without a guide. A guided tour would likely be safer and allow you to see more sights.

No they don't! Book an excursion through your cruiseline, town is dirty and traffic is congested and crazy. We were just there in January. new port is nice

cont.. if you're adventurous you'll get bored at the port. We did the dune buggy through the rain forest and loved it! Enjoy!!

sorry, different question. does celebrity cruises buy visitor passes for everyone when visiting Dominican republic or does everyone get their on before boarding
