Avoid the “Altos de Chavon” tours. The development is made to look ancient, but it’s only 50 years old and is a definite tourist trap for money.

they need to build up the port a bit more you can view the whole port in about 45 mins the main benefit is the people on the island love having the ships there and preform a shop on the peer as the ship sails away

Was warned to stay in the port. Not to wander outside of it

Port seems a little more developed than the last time I went. Just got off to look at the shops and got back on the ship

Nice NEW port. Stay there…

Not much in the port, so an excursion is likely your best option. We did the Caves of Wonder and Altos de Chevon and had a blast! Highly recommend that excursion.

Took a boat to Catalina Island which was very beautiful and calm. I was told food would be available, but all they had was Pringles cans for sale.
