La Romana, Dominican Republic Port Reviews

Went to the pool at the port , it was wonderful , but make sure you are first ones off the boat or you won’t get a chair there ! Service was lacking but food was pretty good . The band there let my son who is a drummer play with them and it was a great time

Not really sure why they pick this port to travel to there is really nothing here and outside the port there is nothing but old city and is unsafe. most of the excursions are a ways away and the port time was very short. was really disappointed with the fact that they picked this port I would rather of had 4 mor hours on Bonaire and not stop at La Romana.

Mostly a beach day

You will need to book an excursion at this port not much to do right off the boat. We did the cave and altos de chevon tour. The cave was pretty cool but it didnt take very long to get through. Altos is cool but it is a replica of an old town. If in this port again I think I would try a different excursion.

Took a bus ride into town. Very aggressive merchants! Not the best port. Would've enjoyed staying on the ship better. Or probably better to book an excursion.

I will going this March & would like to know if anyone has rented a car at the port to go explore on there own. I was thinking of driving on DR-3 to Punta Cana with a detour to altos de chevon & the Hoyo Azul (blue hole) & maybe Juanillo beach. Can anyone give advise on doing this. Yes it’s a good idea or no I shouldn’t do it. Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks

I was excited for this port until I saw it. It was so dirty and gross. I didn’t want to get off the ship.
