La Romana, Dominican Republic Port Reviews

We love this port as well. We took a catamaran to Catalina island. Beautiful!

Tour was ok. Sketchy place to visit for me

Is in the middle of getting places added.. looked to be maybe a pool, swim up bar, hot tub and stores.. Looks like it's going to be great..

La Romana was nice. Live music to greet us and a lot of vendors at the port. The vendors seemed to be more pushy at this port than the others. There was construction going on as well. Will have to revisit when it's all complete.

It was pretty sketchy. We did not ask for a tour guide as we walked to the town from the dock, but seemed to be forced to have to have a guide go with us and even police presence everywhere that seemed to be trying to avoid us getting overwhelmed by locals wanting sell wares or probably more so asking for money or worse. Very sketchy area, but seemed to have a lot of naturally beautiful sites , that you could notice even from ship.

Did the monkey land excursion and was the highlight of the trip. We loved this!

We didn’t do much here it rained off and on. Still a beautiful island.

Beach was overcrowded and extremely dirty both in the water and on the beach. A dead women washed up on shore like 500' from where we has swam.. no body showed concern... glad we were leaving. I understand things happen but the locals were so nonchalant it was scary.

We took an excursion to Monkeyland. So much fun. We got to feed them while they jumped from person to person that had food in their bowls. The handlers put a little piece of carrots on our heads so the monkeys would jump on top and dug thru our hair to find them. A lot of photo opportunities. They even took great pictures for purchase in a cute Monkeyland paper holder. We were allowed to take all the pictures ourselves as well.

Did some shopping and back on the ship (kind of tired from the day before)
