If you are going to buy cigars buy them in the store not with a local vendor we ended up with fakes full of pebbles

We took the trip because the ship was going to Dominican Republic. But we were in port on Jan. 1, a holiday and the DR was closed. It seems an oversight on the part of Carnival. We could have been at sea during the holiday and in port on Jan. 2nd so that we could enjoy the DR in its full. Since DR was on holiday, I am not certain why we were in port as the towns people were not being attentive to visitors. I was extremely disappointed.

Went to Monkeyland through Carnival. The monkeys were the best part and the only good part of the excursion. They put us in a van that was so small. The ride was like 75 minutes. So it was really uncomfortable. The monkeys were really cool and you got to pet them. After the monkeys they took us to this farm where we toured it then came the 15 minute sells pitch. Where they tried to sell us all the stuff they make on the farm. Then back in the small bus for another 75 minute ride back to the ship. Would never do this excursion again.

WE DIDN'T VENTURE OUT OF PORT HERE. IT LOOKS DIRTY AND DIDN'T HAVE A NICE BEACH CLOSE BY. THE SHOPPING OPTIONS IN PORT AREN'T ANYTHING TO SPEAK OF. I WILL HAVE TO BOOK AN EXCURSION NEXT TIME SO I CAN SEE WHAT'S OUT THERE. MY DAUGHTER WENT ON THE DOLPHIN EXCURSION (AN HOUR DRIVE FROM PORT) AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. SAID IT WAS WELL WORTH THE DRIVE.
